ApplyingtheEPB
Whilethevehicleisstationary,theEPBcanbeapplied.
EnsuretheEPBisappliedeverytimethevehicleisleftor
parked.
•Pressthebrakepedal,pulltheEPBswitchupwarduntil
theindicatorintheEPBswitchilluminates.
•IftheindicatorintheEPBswitchandtheindicatorin
theinstrumentpackilluminates,theEPBisapplied.
•IftheEPBmalfunctionindicatorlamp
P
inthe
instrumentpackremainson,itindicatesthatafault
hasbeendetected.PleasecontactanMGAuthorised
Repairerimmediately.
Note:Anaudiblemotornoisemaybeheardwhen
applyingorreleasingtheEPB.
IMPORTANT
•Intheeventofaatbatteryorpowerfailure,itis
notpossibletoapplyorreleasetheEPB.Insucha
case,'jumpleads'shallbeusedforemergencyengine
start,pleasereferto"JumpStarting"in"Emergency
Information"chapter .
ReleasingtheEPB
•Switchontheignition,pressthebrakepedal,andpress
theEPBswitch.
•IftheindicatorintheEPBswitchandtheindicatorin
theinstrumentpack
areextinguished,theEPBis
released.
StartingAid
TheEPBcanpredictthedriver'sintentionand
automaticallyreleasetheEPB.
Ifthedriver'sseatbeltisfastened,theengineisstarted
up,DorRgearisselectedandtheacceleratorpedalis
depressedforstartoff,theEPBwillautomaticallyrelease.
EmergencyBrakingFunction
InappropriateuseoftheEPBcanleadto
accidentsandinjuries.DonotapplytheEPB
forvehiclebraking,unlessinemergency.
Duringthedecelerationofthevehiclewith
EPB,DONOTswitchofftheignition,this
couldresultinseriousinjury.
