(TPMS)
TheTPMSisnotasubstituteforchecking
tyreconditionandpressures.
Note:TheTPMSwarnsoflowtyrepressures,itdoes
notre-inatethetyres.
SystemOperation
ThesystemiscontrolledbytheSCSsystem,which
constantlymonitorsthespeedofeachwheel.If,during
normaldrivingconditionswiththebrakesnotapplied,
theSCSdetectsthatonewheelisrotatingfasterthanthe
others,itdeducesthatthepressureofthattyrehasfallen
belowthepredenedlimitofthesystem.
Asaresult,thewarninglightontheinstrumentpackwill
illuminate(alwaysyellow).
Checkyourtyresattheearliestopportunityandreinate
tothecorrectpressures.Referto‘TyrePressures(Cold)’.
Note:Whenapunctureisdetected,thesystemwill
requiresometimetoanaliseinformationpriorto
illuminatingthewarninglamp.
SystemFaults
Thesystemisselfmonitoring,andifafaultisdetected,
thewarninglightontheinstrumentpackwillashfor90
secondsandthenilluminate(alwaysyellow).
Undercertainconditionsthewarninglightmayilluminate
whenafaultisnotpresent.theseconditionsinclude:
Drivingonicyorwetsurfaces.
Frontaxlesliporexcessivelateralacceleration.
Snowchainstted.
Anonrecommendedtyretted.
TPMSnotresetaftertyrereplacement.
TPMSnotresetaftertyrepressureadjustment.
Roughterraindrivingforexcessiveperiods.
Bendingormountaintypeterraindrivingforexcessive
periods.
