TheTPMSisnotasubstituteforchecking
tyreconditionandpressures.
Note:TheTPMSwarnsoflowtyrepressures,itdoes
notre-inatethetyres.
SystemOperation
ThesystemiscontrolledbytheSCSsystem,which
constantlymonitorsthespeedofeachwheel.If,during
normaldrivingconditionswiththebrakesnotapplied,
theSCSdetectsthatonewheelisrotatingfasterthanthe
others,itdeducesthatthepressureofthattyrehasfallen
belowthepredenedlimitofthesystem.
Asaresult,thewarninglightontheinstrumentpackwill
illuminate(alwaysyellow).
Checkyourtyresattheearliestopportunityandreinate
tothecorrectpressures.Referto‘TyrePressures(Cold)’.
Note:Whenapunctureisdetected,thesystemwill
requiresometimetoanaliseinformationpriorto
illuminatingthewarninglamp.
SystemFaults
Thesystemisselfmonitoring,andifafaultisdetected,
thewarninglightontheinstrumentpackwillashfor90
secondsandthenilluminate(alwaysyellow).
Undercertainconditionsthewarninglightmayilluminate
whenafaultisnotpresent.theseconditionsinclude:
•Drivingonicyorwetsurfaces.
•Frontaxlesliporexcessivelateralacceleration.
•Snowchainstted.
•Anonrecommendedtyretted.
•TPMSnotresetaftertyrereplacement.
•TPMSnotresetaftertyrepressureadjustment.
•Roughterraindrivingforexcessiveperiods.
•Bendingormountaintypeterraindrivingforexcessive
periods.
