Thepurposeoftheparkingaidistoassistthe

thanafewincheswide,smallobjectsclose
totheground,objectsabovethelevelofthe
bootandsomeobjectswithnonreective
surfaces.
Keepthesensorsfreefromdirt,iceandsnow.
Ifdepositsbuilduponthesurfaceofthe
sensors,theirperformancemaybeimpaired.
Whenwashingthecar,avoidaiminghigh
pressurewaterjetsdirectlyatthesensors
fromcloserange.
Fourultrasonicsensors,situatedintherearbumper ,scan
anareabehindthecarsearchingforobstructions.Ifan
obstructionisdetected,thesensorscalculateitsdistance
fromtherearofthecarandcommunicatethisinformation
tothedriverbysoundingwarningchimes.Itisimportant
torememberthatthesystemisnomorethananAID
toparking.Itisnotfoolproofinoperation,noritisa
substituteforobservationandpersonaljudgement.
