The Altair Single Gas detector is designed to be a maintenance-
free instrument, but it must be calibrated if it does not pass a Bump
Test or if calibration is required by local procedures.
For oxygen instruments, perform a calibration if:
there are changes in barometric pressure
(altitude changes)
there are extreme changes in ambient temperature and
humidity (see TABLE 6-2, "Instrument Specifications").
the instrument does not pass a bump test.
For toxic instruments (CO and H
2
S), perform a calibration if any of
the following occur:
physical shock
extended use in extreme temperatures
high concentration exposure
the instrument does not pass a bump test.
