      If the batteries fail while the MSA Gas Detectors Orion is in use and the sensors show desensitization, indicated by unusual or negative readings, follow these steps: First, run the Orion in clean air for 15 minutes. Then, perform a challenge test. If the Orion fails this test, call Gas Help. Otherwise, zero and field calibrate the Orion. Finally, confirm the calibration by conducting another challenge test.

      If the MSA Gas Detectors pump keeps alarming, systematically remove components from the gas circuit until you find the blockage. After removing each component, press Change/Reset to acknowledge the alarm. If it persists, continue by dismantling the wand and removing the external water stop, then remove the sampling hose, and replace the dust filter. If the problem still exists, call Gas Help.
