6. Align the notch in the ring gear with the alignment
hole in the ring gear retaining bracket.
7. Insert a second 1/4” pin punch through the ring gear
retaining bracket and the notch of the ring gear.
8. Install the ring gear and bracket on the blower hous-
ing.
NOTE: The pin punch should be resting in the
pocket formed by the two ribs supporting the
screw post.

9. Install the front two ring gear retaining bracket
screws and tighten them to a torque of 15 - 25 in lbs
(1.7 - 2.8 Nm).
See Figure 4.20.
NOTE: Leave the pin punch in place.
10. If equipped, install the thick washer between the
ring gear retaining bracket and the governor shield.
See Figure 4.21.
11. Install the nut and bolt that goes through bracket,
washer and the governor shield.
