• AsanyotherUSBdevice,thedriverinstallsexactlyforoneUSBport.Ifyouconnect
theKOMPLETEAUDIO6toanotherport,astandardWindowsdialogopensinwhich
youcaninstallthedrivertothatport.Ifyouhavepreviouslyinstalledthedriveronyour
computeronce,Windowswillndtherightdriversitselfoncethatyoustartthedriver
installation procedure.
• Ifyoudonotknowwhetherdriverswereinstalledcorrectly,itisadvisabletostartthe
setupprogramoftheKOMPLETEAUDIO6again(seechapter3).Ifthesetupprogram
statesthatitwillrstuninstallthedrivers,youalreadyhaveinstalledthedriverson
your computer. In this case you can connect the device to any other USB port and
WindowswillndtherightdriverwheninstallingtheKOMPLETEAUDIO6onanother
USB port.
MacOSX
OnMacOSX,opentheSystemPreferences;withthedeviceconnectedandthedriverin-
stalled,theKOMPLETEAUDIO6iconshouldbelistedintheOther section.
• Iftheiconismissinghere,thedriverisprobablynotinstalled.
• Ifthedriverisnotinstalled,youcaninstallitasdescribedinchapter3.
• Ifthedeviceisnotrecognized,checkyourUSB2.0connectionasdescribedinchapter8.3.
8.3 USBTroubleshooting
IfyouexperienceproblemscausedbytheUSBconnectionbetweentheKOMPLETEAU-
DIO6andyourcomputer,checkthefollowing chaptersrst;severalpossiblesourcesfor
USB issues are covered here.
8.3.1 USB 2.0 required
TheKOMPLETEAUDIO6isaUSB2.0interfaceandwillnotworkatallonaUSB1.0/1.1
port.Inaddition,althoughtheminimumpower speciedfor aUSB2.0portis500mA,
wehaveseenafewcaseswheretheUSB2.0portsoncertaincomputersdonotmeetthe
minimumrequirements.Inthiscase,youmayseeamessagesayingthatthereisnotenough
poweravailabletooperateyourdeviceandyoumayencountercrackling/poppingsounds,or
thedevicemayfailtooperatealtogether.
8.3.2 Try another USB cable
AbadUSBcablecanberesponsibleforaudiodropoutsandotherconnectivityproblems.It
isrecommendedyouchangeoutthecableifyouexperiencedifculties.Also,makesureto
useacablebearingtheofcialUSBlogo.
