Power Requirements
The printer receives power either from a host system (integrated) or from a separate in–
line power supply (remote) which can be purchased separately. Models receiving power
from a power supply use one cable for communication and a separate cable for power.
Power Modes
Below are the available power modes of the printer.
NCR Terminal Power–Low Mode (Term Pwr–Low): Maximum allowable printing
cycle power consumption is 55W.
NCRTerminal Power–High Mode (Term Pwr–High): Maximum allowable printing
cycle power consumption is 55W.
NCR60W Power Supply Mode (NCR60W Ext Pwr): Maximum allowable printing
cycle power consumption is 60W.
NCR75W Power Supply Mode (NCR 75 Ext Pwr): Maximum allowable printing
cycle power consumption is 75W.
Power from Host
The host computer must provide a +24V supply to the printer. Voltage variation in the
24V line may be within 21.6 and 26.4 volts. Surge protection must be provided. To do
this, place a 3.2 Ampere time delay fuse on the +24V line.
Power from External Power Supply
The external power supply must provide a +24V line of power to the printer. Surge
protection must be provided.
When NCR75W external power supply is used, select (NCR75WExt Pwr) mode.
When NCR60W external power supply is used, select (NCR60W Ext Pwr) mode.
