3. Replace the cover and slide it up until it latches onto the handset.
SECTION 8 CHARGING BATTERIES
8.1 Charging the Handset Batteries
The rechargeable batteries must be fully charged before using the handset for the
first time.
1. Place the handset in the charging unit.
2. Make sure the Handset Charging LED indicator lights. If the Handset
Charging LED does not come on, check to see if the AC adapter is
plugged in and that the handset is making good contact with the
charging contacts on the charging unit.

IMPORTANT
Charge the batteries without interruption for at least 10 hours.
NOTE

The Handset Charging LED turns blue during and after charging the
handset with the battery.
