VM8000 Issue 1.0
InMail System Guide 4 - 9
Updating the System Prompts
You may need to update the VM8000 InMail system prompts on the VM8000 InMail
CompactFlash Card to be able to use new features. The documentation that came
with the new software indicates when this is required.
There are two prompt set options. The standard Mnemonic prompt set
"PromptUpdateVer1_3_1.imp" or the Numeric prompt set
"PromptUpdateNumeric1_3_1.imp".
1. To reinstall or
change the prompt
set on the InMail
CompactFlash Card,
click Update on the
InMail Utility Main
Screen (Refer to
Figure 4-5 on page
5.)
The default location
for the system
prompt file is
C:\NEC\VM8000
InMail\Prompts.
Recorded names,
messages and
greetings are not
lost when the system
voice prompts are
updated.
2. On the VM8000 InMail Utility Update Prompts screen, select the appropriate file prompt
update file (*.imp). The standard Mnemonic prompt set "PromptUpdateVer1_3_1.imp"
or the Numeric prompt set "PromptUpdateNumeric1_3_1.
imp". Then click Open. (Refer to Figure 4-12.)
3. When the prompt update
completes, the Figure
4-13 InMail Utility Prompt
Update Complete
Message on page 4-9 is
displayed.
If the system voice prompts
that are currently set on the
InMail CompactFlash
Card are newer than the
prompts that are being set,
a message similar to the
one in Figure 4-14 InMail
Utility Prompt Update
Version Conversion
Confirmation Screen is
displayed.
