NIRStar 14.1 - User Manual

The Topo Layout matrix can have up to 20 rows and 15 columns, for a maximum of 300 cells. However,
the largest array that the real-time Block Average display function can display is 15×10, so a maximum of
150 channels can be simultaneously viewed during the data collection process. (Note, however, that
neither the number of channels you include in the layout nor the number of channels in the real-time
Block Average display has any effect on the number of columns of data in the .wl1 and .wl2 output files
that NIRStar generates.)
The specified topography pattern is automatically saved when exiting from the Hardware Configuration
user interface, and it is automatically retrieved the next time that interface is entered.
The Export to NILAB button (upper right corner of the Topo Layout user interface) saves the topographic
setup to a binary MATLAB file for easy import into the NILAB topographic data analysis suite.
If no Topographic Layout is defined (i.e., if the table is empty) and the Use Topo
View checkbox is activated, then no channels are displayed in the corresponding
plots. Please uncheck the Use Topo View checkbox to obtain a source-detector
view. Please also check for an empty Channel Masking matrix (see Section 5.5) that
might have been automatically updated. This also can cause the channel display to
be empty.
A specified topographic layout is erased when the hardware configuration (e.g.
number of either sources or detectors) is changed.
