Profile settings
Once you have selected the setting
Personalise, you can customise the
following settings of the selected
profile:
• Incoming call alert to define
how the phone notifies you of an
incoming voice call.The options are:
Ringing, Ascending, Ring
once, Beep Once and Off.
When Incoming call alert is
set to Off or Beep Once no
ringing tone will be heard and is
displayed when the phone is in the
standby mode.
• Ringing tone to set the ringing
tone type for voice calls.
Tip:
If you receive a ringing
tone via IR or as an Over-The-
Air message (OTA), you can
store five personal ringing
tones in the ringing tone list.

contact your local service
provider.
• Ringing volume to set the
volume level for the ringing and
message alert tones.
• Vibrating alert to set the
phone to vibrate at an incoming
voice call and at an incoming text
message. The vibrating alert does
not work when the phone is
connected to a charger or to a
desktop stand.
• Message alert tone to set the
ringing tone type for text messages.
• Keypad tones to set the volume
level for key pad tones or to set the
key pad tones off.
• Warning tones to set the
warning and game tones on or off.
For example, when set to on, the
phone sounds a warning tone when
the battery is running out of power.
• Alert for to set the phone to ring
only upon calls from phone numbers
which belong to a selected caller
group. To set a ringing tone and a
group graphic for a caller group, see
page 53.
• Automatic answer (in Car and
Headset profiles only) to set the
phone to answer an incoming voice
call after a few seconds.
Note:
This function can only
be used when your phone is
connected to the HDC-9P
headset or to the MCC-1 car
kit (with the ignition
switched on).
• Lights (in Car profile only) to set
the display and keypad lights. On or
Automatic.
Renaming profiles
You can rename the profiles to your
personal liking except for General,
Car and Headset profiles.
