For cable pin assignments for the console connection, see Figure 4 on
page 24.
2. Connect the other end of the cable to the VT100 console or to a system
running a terminal-emulation program.
Connecting Power and Turning the Power On
A power switch and a receptacle for the power cord are located on each power
supply on the back of the appliance as shown in Figure 8.

To connect the power supply
1. Connect the power cord securely into the power cord receptacle on the
power supply.
2. Plug the other end of the power cord into a grounded power strip or wall
outlet.
3. Toggle the power switch to the on position to provide power to the
EM5400 appliance.
