5.6.5 Water Connections Checklist
Check the following to ensure that the water connections for the humidier have been installed correctly:
 Water quality meet the requirements listed in Table 6 on page 18?
 Shutoff valve and union tting installed in supply line?
 Water supply piping to humidier minimum 1/2 in (13 mm) diameter? Plastic or stainless steel pipe,
if using demineralized water?
 5 μm water lter (optional, but recommended) installed in the supply line close to the humidier?
 Water supply temperature 34-77 °F (1-25 °C)?
 Water supply surge-protected and pressure regulated to 30-80 psig (207-550 kPa)?
 Check for leaks in the water supply line?
 Air gap funnel in the oor located away from the control cabinet in the humidier?
 Air gap funnel minimum 2-1/2 in (64 mm) in diameter?
 Drain pipe between air gap funnel and building drain have a minimum internal diameter of 1-1/2 in
(38 mm)? Copper or stainless steel pipe?
 Drain hose from humidier empty into the air gap funnel without touching its sides or bottom? Drain
hose have a minimum constant downslope of 1.2°, and secured with hose clamp? Drain hose rated
for 212 °F (100 °C)?
 Condensate hose installed (CS/NX model only)? Hose rated for 212 °F (100 °C)?
 Condensate trap inside unit primed with water?
 Water supply line and drain lines ushed? Strainer in the ll valve free of debris?
