5.11.3 External Connections
This section describes the different external control signal and power connections to the Nortec GS
humidier.
CAUTION!
Risk of improper operation, or damage to equipment and property!
Prevention: Before disconnecting the control signal cables, tag all wires. Reconnect all wires prop-
erly after servicing.
5.11.3.1 External Security Loop
The external security loop consists of dry contacts of the external monitoring devices (for example,
ventilation interlock, high limit humidistat, air proving switch, etc.). Connect the external safety devices
in series to pins "1" and "2" in the low voltage terminal strip. Refer to Figure 25 on page 56 and Figure 27.
IMPORTANT! A high limit humidistat is highly recommended to prevent over-humidication and
potential damage to property.
IMPORTANT! Install a jumper between pins "1" and "2" in the low voltage terminal strip if no exter-
nal On/Off devices are connected to the security loop.
The connecting cables must lead into the control cabinet through a cable gland or grommet.
CAUTION!
Risk of damage to internal components!
Prevention: DO NOT apply voltage to low voltage terminal strip pins "1" and "2" through the con-
tacts of the external On/Off devices.
