Precautionary Measures When Using the Calculator
D It is essential to press the key before using the calculator for the
first time.
D Change the batteries at least once every three years even if the
calculator is working properly. An empty battery could leak and cause
malfunctions or damage to the calculator. Never leave an empty
battery in the calculator.
D The battery supplied with the unit could discharge a little during
transport and storage. Therefore, this battery should be replaced
after a shorter period than that stipulated for normal battery service
life.
D Low battery voltage could cause the memory content to be corrupted
or lost. Therefore, always make written copies of important data.
D Avoid exposing the calculator to extreme temperatures during
operation and storage. Low temperatures could cause the display to
light up very slowly, complete failure of the display or a shortening of
the battery service life. Do not place the calculator in direct sunlight,
near a window, near a heater or another location subject to very high
temperatures. Heat can cause the calculator housing to discolour or
warp and cause damage to the internal circuitry.
D Protect the calculator from splashing water, excessive humidity and
dust. Doing so could cause damage to the internal circuitry.
D Never let the calculator fall and avoid any sudden impacts.
D Do not bend the calculator.
D Do not dismantle the calculator.
D Never press the keys on the calculator with a ballpoint pen or another
pointed object.
D Clean the outside of the calculator with a dry, soft cloth. If the
calculator is very soiled, dampen the cloth with a mild soap-water
solution to clean it. Wring out the cloth well to remove any excess
moisture. Never use thinner, solvents or other volatile liquids to clean
the calculator. Otherwise, the imprinted characters could be removed
and the housing damaged.
