Technical Information
In case of a problem......
If the calculator results are not those expected or an error occurs, carry out
the following steps.
1 Press the keys
(Mode) to initialise all modes and
settings.
2 Check the equation you are using is correct.
3 Activate the correct mode and enter the calculation again.
If the above steps do not solve the problem, press the
key. The
calculator then completes a self-test and deletes all the data in the memory
if an abnormal condition is detected. Always make written copies of
important data.
Error messages
The calculator is locked against use when an error message is in the
display. Press the
key to clear the error or press the or key to
display the calculation and correct the problem. Refer to “Error Locator” for
details.
Math ERROR
Cause
D The calculation result lies outside the permissible calculation range.
D An attempt was made to complete a calculation function using a
value which is outside the permissible input range.
D An attempt is made to complete an illogical operation (division by
zero, etc.).
Action
D Check the input values and ensure that they are within the
permissible range. Pay particular attention to values in the memory
areas used.
Stack ERROR
Cause
D The capacity of the numeric stack or command stack has been
exceeded.
Action
D Simplify the calculation. The numeric stack has 10 levels and the
command stack has 24 levels.
D Divide the calculation into two or three parts.
Syntax ERROR
Cause
D An attempt was made to perform an impermissible mathematic
operation.
