Connecting to your PC using the docking station
The“Standard”versionoftheDS-5500doesnotincludethedockingstation
(optional).
Place the recorder in the docking station
1 ConnecttheUSBcabletotheUSBportofthePC.
2 ConnecttheUSBcabletothedockingstationasshowninthe
illustration.
3 Settherecorderinthedockingstation.
• [Remote(Composite)]or[Remote(Storage)]isdisplayedonthe
recorderiftheUSBcableisconnected.
• IftheACadapterisconnectedaswell,powerwillbesuppliedfromthe
ACadapter.
Disconnecting from your PC
Windows
1 Click[ ]onthetaskbarlocatedatthelower-rightcornerof
thescreen.Click[Safely remove USB Mass Storage Device].
• ThedriveletterwilldifferdependingonthePCbeingused.
2 Confirm that the status indicator light turns off before
disconnectingtheUSBcable.
Macintosh
1 Draganddroptherecorder’sdriveiconforthisrecorder
displayedonthedesktoptotheRecycleBinicon.
2 Confirm that the status indicator light turns off before
disconnectingtheUSBcable.
Notes
• NEVERremovethecardordisconnecttheUSBcablewhilethestatus
indicatorlightisflashing.Ifyoudo,thedatawillbedestroyed.
• Nevertouchthecontactpointsatthebottomofthedockingstation,asthis
maycauseabadconnection.
• WithaPCconnected,therecordercannotbeoperatedwiththeFoot
Switch.WhenconnectingtherecordertoaPCviathedockingstation,
removetheFootSwitch.
