Guide characters can be copied when the guide character type is set to fixed
character string or ON/OFF switching character strings. The OFF character
string will be copied if the ON/OFF switching type is specified. Also, only the first
line will be copied if there are multiple lines of guide characters. If the length of
the source string exceeds 40 characters, only the first 40 characters will be co-
pied.
Reference: Input into character string input fields is also possible using the control key
touch switches (0 to 9, A to F), and from a bar code reader connected to the PT.
A control key touch switch (ENT or ) is also necessary to confirm input char-
acter strings when character string setting is used.
Control Code Input Function
Control keys are used as numeric keys (0 to 9, A to F) for the numeral input func-
tion, and as special keys with fixed functions. By assigning an control key to a
touch switch, it can be used to execute a specific function.
The attributes for control keys are as follows:

The following functions can be set for touch switch control keys.
Key Function
0 to 9, A to F Used to input numerals (1 digit)
CLR Clears numeric values and character strings in input fields
Assigns the opposite sign to input numeric values
. Used to input a decimal point
HOME Used to move to the input field at the top left of the screen
, , , Used to move to the required input field
Confirms input without shifting to another input field
Stops the buzzer
, Shift between input fields
MENU Used to display the System Menu
CA Cancels text input
BS
Deletes the numeral or character immediately preceding the
input cursor
DEL Deletes the numeral or character at the input cursor location

Used to shift the input cursor
ENT
Confirms input (after confirmation, the cursor shifts to the next
input field)
Pop-up Window/Keyboard Function
This function is used to control the opening and closing of windows when using
the window function (2-15 Window Function, page 237).
