2-8 Numeral Display
The contents of numeral memory table entries are displayed as numeric values.
The values can be displayed either in decimal or hexadecimal notation.
There are two methods for referencing a numeral memory table entry whose
contents are to be displayed, as follows:
• Direct reference (reference of the number of the relevant numeral memory
table entry)
Allocated word
(numeral memory table entry 18)

Restrictions
• A maximum of 256 numeral displays can be registered for one screen. (Same
for window screen.) For overlapping screens comprising 8 child screens, the
maximum is 1,024.
There is no restriction on the number of numeral displays that can be regis-
tered for one screen data file: any number can be registered as long as the
data file capacity is not exceeded. However, if a large number of elements
are registered, check that the restrictions on element display are complied
with by referring to Display Restrictions (page 431).
• The maximum number of numeral display that can be displayed using indirect
reference is 100 per screen combined with the number of character string dis-
play that is displayed using indirect reference. (Same restriction applies to
overlapping screens or when displaying window screens.)
• The range of numeric values that can be displayed depends on the Storage
Type (BCD or Binary), Display Type (Decimal or Hexadecimal), and Display
Sign settings made for the numeral memory table entry. For details, refer to 2-3
Numeral Memory Table (page 72).
