Why is nothing displayed on the Omron Touch terminals screen?
    • J
      John FlowersSep 18, 2025
If nothing is displayed on the Omron Touch terminals screen, it might be because Screen No. 0 has been read at the host side. Try changing the screen number. Alternatively, the system startup waiting time may not have elapsed yet; the display should appear after the waiting time is over.

Why do the digits in numeral display come out as * on Omron Touch terminal?
    • W
      Wendy RiveraAug 31, 2025
The digits in the numeral display come out as asterisks because the number of digits of a numeric value in a numeral memory table exceeds the set number. Confirm the values of the PLC words allocated to the numeral memory table. Allocate one PLC word to each numeral memory table.

If the buzzer has sounded and the RUN LED is OFF on your Omron Touch terminal, it could be due to malfunction caused by external noise or the NT31/NT31 has developed trouble. Carry out grounding work or contact your OMRON service center.

Why cannot input numeric values/character strings on Omron Touch terminals?
    • P
      Phillip GouldSep 9, 2025
If you're unable to input numeric values or character strings on your Omron Touch terminal, it could be because bit 5 of the PT status control area (numeral/character string input) is set to 1 (ON). Set bit 5 to 0 (OFF). Alternatively, the interlock function might be set for the input field, and the controlling interlock bit is OFF. Check the status of the corresponding interlock bit and turn it ON, as inputs are prohibited in input fields when the corresponding interlock bit is OFF.

What does '[Tool Transmit Error] Error detected while downloading' mean on Omron NT31 Touch terminals?
    • C
      Colleen CollinsSep 16, 2025
If your Omron Touch terminal displays the message '[Tool Transmit Error] Error detected while downloading', it could be due to a defective connecting cable, so check the cable connection and perform a conductivity test, replacing the cable if there's a fault. Malfunction due to external noise is another possibility, so carry out grounding work.

How to resolve '[Programming Console Error] Programming Console Function does not RUN' error on Omron Touch terminal?
    • N
      Nathan CohenAug 25, 2025
The '[Programming Console Error] Programming Console Function does not RUN' error appears because the connecting cable is defective, there is malfunction due to external noise, or a Programming Console is connected. Check the cable connection and perform a conductivity test. If there is a fault, replace the cable. Carry out grounding work. Disconnect the Programming Console.
