13.5 Mode restriction
You can restrict output by enabling department codes.
Only users who know the department code can:
– make a copy (page 45)
– print a document (page 37)
– print a file from a USB memory device (page 40)
Note:
R You can set department codes and restriction
settings for individual departments (up to 100
departments).
R To use the mode restriction feature, do not allow
many people to know the administrator code.

3. Press MFN or MEN repeatedly to select “NEW”. A

4. Enter the name, up to 16 characters (see page 53 for

5. Enter a 4-digit department code using 0-9. A

6. If necessary, change the “PRINT” or “COPY” setting.

4. Select [MODE RESTRICTION] from the menu.
5. Type the administrator code (feature #151 on

6. Click [Edit] next to the desired item that you want to
register or edit.
7. Enter the name and 4-digit department code.
8. Select [ENABLED] from the [PRINT] drop-down list
if necessary.
9. Select [ENABLED] from the [COPY] drop-down list
if necessary.
10. [Submit]
11. Close the web browser.
