Feature Code Selection
ECM selection #413 To set the Error Correction Mode (ECM). This feature is available when the
sending / receiving fax machines are ECM compatible. When “ON” is selected,
fax transmission / reception will be carried out so that the errors do not occur.

Connecting tone #416 If you often have trouble when sending faxes, this feature allows you to hear
connecting tones: fax tone, ring back tone and busy tone. You can use these tones
to confirm the status of the other party’s machine.

R If the ring back tone continues, the other party’s machine may not be a fax
machine or may have run out of paper. Check with the other party.
R The connecting tone cannot be adjusted individually.
Maximum fax
speed
#418 To set the maximum fax speed. The fax speed may be lower than the selected
speed depending on your line.

Quick scan mode #419 To enable quick scan mode. When “ALWAYS” is selected, the unit will scan the
document and store it into memory first, then the unit will start sending the
documents.

Confirming the
destination
#420 To confirm the destination before sending a fax. When “ON” is selected, you can
send a fax after confirming the destination. When the displayed destination is
correct, press MxN to send the fax.

Dial keypad entry

#421 If you want to restrict dialling fax numbers manually using the dial keypad (to avoid
misdialling, for example), activate this feature.

Note:
R If you select “ON”, you cannot make redial calls to fax numbers entered using
the dial keypad.
R If you select “ON”, the fax number re-entry setting (feature #422 on
page 79) will be deactivated.

#422 When “ON” is selected, if you dial a fax number manually using the dial keypad,
you have to re-enter the number and press MxN. When the 2nd entry number
matches the 1st entry number, you can send the fax.

Confirming the
next document
#424 When “ON” is selected, after the document is scanned using the automatic
document feeder during fax memory transmission, the message shows to confirm
the next document. Insert the next document and press MSETN. A MxN
