Proper inflation is vital! Under inflation is a tire’s worst enemy. Inflation pressure should be checked with an accurate
tire pressure gauge only. “Thumping” with a tire bar is not a satisfactory method to use when checking pressure.
The practice of reducing inflation pressure to attain a softer ride is extremely hazardous, especially when steer axle
tires are involved. Under inflation causes excessive flexing within a tire, resulting in heat buildup which can cause a
blowout. An under inflated tire running at highway speeds and under heavy load can cause severe handling
problems.
