GENERAL
4-5.4 Operation
NOTE: The first click of a control knob has no effect or a “wake up click”; this is to reduce the number of
accidental changes.
4-5.4a Fan Control Knob
NOTE: An indicator lamp illuminates when in Automatic Temperature Control mode.
The blower or fan control has five settings; the first sets the fan to OFF. Each click towards the right will increase the
fan speed by 25%.
Pressing the center of the fan control knob will switch the system between automatic and manual temperature mode.
See “Automatic Temperature Control (ATC)” on page 4-15.
4-5.4b Temperature Control Knob
NOTE: An indicator lamp illuminates when the A/C compressor is engaged.
The temperature control knob raises and lower the cab target temperature by one degree Fahrenheit with each click.
Increasing one degree Celsius shall require multiple indentations.
Pressing the center of the temperature control knob will manually switch the A/C compressor on/off.
4-5.4c Air Flow Control Knob
NOTE: When the A/C is switched off, some air will always flow to the windshield no matter the state of the
air flow control knob.
The air flow control knob shall be used to set the proportion of air to the cab area and rear cab area. There shall be
five positions; 100% front/defrost, 75% front/25% rear, 50% front/50% rear, 25% front/75% rear, and 100% rear.
Defrost
Pressing the center of the temperature control knob sets the system to Defrost Mode. The A/C compressor is
switched on, heat and fan speed increases to MAX, and all air is directed toward the windshield. You may change
the fan speed in this mode.
When defrost is no longer desired, press the center of the temperature control knob again, change temperature, air
flow direction, press defrost or the ATC/Manual button. The system will return to its previous state.
4-5.5 Automatic Temperature Control (ATC)
Engage
Press the fan control knob to IN to engage Automatic Temperature Control.
System automatically adjusts the fan speed and A/C compressor as necessary to set cabin temperature to the
previous ATC settings. The operator can then adjust the temperature setting as desired.
Air is directed 50/50 front/rear.
A/C compressor may engage or disengage as necessary to maintain the desired temperature.
Disengage
The system shall revert back to the previous mode by pressing in / turning the fan speed knob, pressing in the
temperature knob, or pressing in / turning the air flow knob. Deactivating the system shall set the current fan speed
setting to as close to the current ATC settings as possible while maintaining current system target temperature
settings.
