4-5.1 Defroster
This is a recirculation-only, overhead unit. Air intake is through the rear cab-mounted HEPA filter. Controls consist
of temperature and fan speed.
IMPORTANT: As the defrost is a recirculation-only system, the A/C is enabled to dry the air in situations
where the windshield might fog over.
4-5.2 Heater
There is one underseat heating unit as standard equipment, or an optional second underseat heating unit is
available. Each unit has an outlet at the floor, blowing rearward, and an inlet immediately above in the seat riser. In
addition, each unit has a duct routed to the first officer and driver foot area. These outlets are located in the seat
riser next to the engine tunnel. The overhead unit is also used to heat the cab.
4-5.3 Air Conditioning
The air conditioning system has a roof mounted condenser and a ceiling mounted evaporator unit. The evaporator
is mounted in the center of the cab. There are six fully adjustable circular louvers for the driver and first officer and
six louvers for the rear seating positions.
When the air conditioning compressor is engaged:
Underseat heaters and windshield air flow switch OFF.
Overhead unit provides cooling.
