Care and maintenance
The Poseidon M28 is a computer-controlled precision underwater instrument.
Its successful continued operation depends upon preventing water from
entering the inner cavity of the computer or within the cable connector.
The computer is factory sealed and pressure tested before delivery and there is
no reason to open the device up for any kind of maintenance. If a device has
been opened a pressure test is required to verify water tightness.
Cleaning or replacing of the buttons
If dirt and particles entering the the button mechanics may affect its function.
Buttons can be removed according to the image below and the compartment
rinsed and ushed from dirt if necessary.
Ensure that the compression spring is correctly re-installed. Hand tighten the screws
carefully. The buttons are automatically recalibrated by the M28. Buttons, springs,
and screws are available to be ordered as spare parts.
