Calibrating the Internal mA
Reference (
ICAL)
The meter is factory calibrated prior to shipment to display
0.00 to 100.00, which corresponds to the 4-20 mA input.
The calibration equipment is traceable to NIST standards.
The use of calibrated signal sources is necessary to
calibrate the internal source of the meter. The meter’s
internal source is what allows the user to scale the
meter without applying a signal.
Check calibration of the meter at least every
12 months.
Note: Allow the meter to warm up for at least
15 minutes before performing the internal source
calibration procedure.
The Internal Calibration menu is part of the Advanced
menu. Internal Calibration is performed as follows:
Press the Menu button to enter Programming Mode.
Press the Up-Arrow button twice and press Enter to
access the Advanced menu.
Press the Up-Arrow button and press Enter to
access the System menu.
Press the Up-Arrow button and press Enter to
access the ICAL menu.
The meter displays low input current message
(4.000 mA). Apply a 4 mA signal and press Enter.
The display flashes for a moment while the meter is
accepting the low input signal.
After the display stops flashing, the display moves to
the high input calibration (20.000 mA). Apply the high
input signal and press Enter. The display will flash
again while the meter is accepting the high input
signal.
