7.7 Configuration of call parameters
7.7.1 Talk time
The call time is defined in parameter 299. The value is given in units of 1s – after entering the value of 100 in this
parameter, the maximum call time will be 100 seconds. The end of call is indicated by an acoustic signal in the
handset and in the cassette loudspeaker.
7.7.2 Basic parameters of the audio track
As in old systems, the PBX built-in KDC1905 enables to adjust three basic parameters of the track: cassette speaker
volume, cassette microphone gain and balance. Balance is used to suppress the cassette microphone signal that
would be heard in the cassette speaker. Correct balance setting is necessary to ensure the legibility of call and
operation of autosilencer. The basic parameters of the soundtrack are given under the numbers:
• 292 – cassette microphone volume at idle (Autosilencer off)
• 291 – cassette loudspeaker volume at idle (Autosilencer off)
• 293 – balance settings
7.7.3 Autosilencer
Autosilencer changes the audio track parameters of call in order to improve its quality. Autosilencer settings are
defined in parameters:
• 294 – cassette microphone gain at the Autosilencer idle
• 295 – loudspeaker gain when Autosilencer is turned on
• 290 – call flags: +1 switching on the Autosilencer system
Autosilencer does not use the basic parameters of the track, except for balance. The other two parameters
(microphone and loudspeaker volume) do not affect the operation of Autosilencer system.
The principle of Autosilencer is to change the properties of audio tracks in a timely manner. When the acoustic
signal from uniphone is detected, the Autosilencer system mutes the cassette’s microphone and increases the gain in
speaker (to the level specified in parameter 295). Such a scheme of operation ensures “priority” of the audio track
“downwards” (from headset to cassette).
Autosilencer, for correct operation, requires correct balance setting.
