3 List of terms used in the manual
• PBX – cassette with PBX module
• satellite – additional keyboard, not equipped with PBX module (no possibility to control the device line)
• global parameter – parameter valid for all keyboards in the system. It can be hidden by the local parameter
• local parameter – parameter seen only by one keyboard. By default, all local parameters are undefined. After
defining, this parameter “hides” the global parameter for this keyboard
• Autosilencer – acoustic track automation system
• acoustic track downwards – audio signal from the microphone of headset in the premises to the loudspeaker
in cassette
• acoustic track upwards – audio signal from the microphone of cassette to the handset in premises
• beeper, beep, biping – acoustic confirmation of action/activity in the system (e.g. opening the lock with P1
button)
• balance – a system that reduces the noise generated by resistance of the device line cable
• PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) – method of electric load control. It consists in changing the average
current by changing the pulse width of “load switching” pulse
• PBX logical number – number entered from the local keyboard (1905/1915), or the logical number of remote
keyboard after shifting the master type preshift
• physical number – number after all calculations and forwarding. Equivalent to the address of decoder
• feedback – an attempt to establish a connection with the device
• ANSWER – signal generated by a new type of decoder after selecting P1 key in the idle state
• device idle state – time when the device is not addressed (no conversation is being conducted)
• keyboard idle state – time when the cassette is not used and a dot is displayed on the display
• uniphone, decoder, handset – terms interchangeable with the term “apparatus” installed in the premises
• jumper decoder – old type camera, addressed by appropriate configuration of jumpers
• Picowe decoder – a newer type of camera, which is controlled from a microprocessor. Addressing is carried
out using a jumper board or a dedicated service programmer
• P1, P2 – selected device button while the uniphone is addressed
• P5, P6 – buttons P1 and P2 selected during the device idle state, P5 is generated only by old jumper-type
devices, newer, “picowe” devices generate under P1 ANSWER
• backup – data backup saved in the PBX
• E-2 – error displayed when a short-circuit is detected on the device line
