ULTRA 3 INSTRUCTION MANUAL

Parameter Defaults
When you first switch the Ultra 3 on, it will be reading the distance from the
face of the transducer to the surface. It will be indicating in metres, as
shown on the display. All relays are set OFF.
The date (P931) and time (P932) in the Ultra 3 were set at the factory, but
may need checking, and amending if, for example the application is in a time
zone other than GMT, see relevant parameter listing for full details.
In some applications, it is easier to empty the vessel, take a reading from the
Ultra 3 for distance and then setup the empty level to this figure.
Once you are satisfied with the installation, and Ultra 3 is reading what you
would expect in terms of distance from the face of the transducer to the
material level, then you can proceed with programming, for the intended
application. It is sensible to program all of the required parameters at the
same time. The system will be then set-up.
Note: The span is automatically calculated from the empty level, so the
empty level should be entered first.
Factory Defaults
When first installing the Ultra 3, or subsequently moving or using the unit on a
new application, before proceeding to program the unit for its intended application
it is recommended that you ensure that all parameters are at their default values by
completing a Factory Default P930, as described in the relevant unit type
parameter guide.
