Complete the following steps to setup the Use COM Define option.
1. Place the computer close to the CubiScan 125.
2. Route a RS-232 serial cable through an opening in the base so it cannot be crushed, bent, or
pulled loose. Make sure that the cable does not interfere with gate movement or the scale.
1. The CubiScan 125 control box is located just behind the touchscreen. Connect one end of the
serial cable to the CubiScan 125 controller. Tighten the screws (two on each connector) to
secure the cable in place.
2. Plug the serial to HID keyboard converter cable into the RS-232 serial cable. Plug the USB
end of the converter cable into the computer.
3. On the CubiScan 125 touchscreen, go to
Menu > Setup (7/7). Turn the Use COM Define option to
Y.
4. On the computer, open the application that you want data transmitted to. Data will be
transmitted to whichever application currently has Windows focus.
5. Take a measurement. The data should be transmitted.
