6.2L ocationrequirements
Followtheguidelinesbelowwhenselectingalocationforyoursingle
transducerorsplit-pairtransducers.
Forbestperformance,transducersshouldbeinstalledinalocationwiththe
leastturbulenceandaeration.
Important:
DoNO Tinstalltransducersin-linewithtrailerrollers,yourvessel’sengine
intakeordischargeopenings.
•T ransducersshouldbeinstalledasclosetothecenterlineofthevessel
aspossible.
1.OutboardorI/O(Planinghull)—mountforwardandtothesideof
thepropeller(s).
2.Inboard(Planinghull)—mountforwardofthepropeller(s)andshaft(s).
3.Steppedhull(Planinghull)—mountonthefirststepasfaraftas
possible.
4.Displacementhull—mountapproximately1/3ofthewayalongthe
lengthofthehull,measuredalongthewaterline.
5.Finkeel(Keelsailboat)—mountforwardofthekeel,ensuringthatthe
keelwillnotobstructthetransducerswidebeamwidth.
6.Fullkeel(Keelsailboat)—mountawayfromthekeelatalocation
withminimumdeadrise,ensuringthatthekeelwillnotobstructthe
transducerswidebeamwidth.
•Themountingsurfaceshouldbeflatsothattransducersitsflushagainst
thehull.
•Wheninstallingsplit-pairtransducerswithangledelements,youmust
ensurethatthehull’sdeadriseangleatthechosenmountinglocationis
appropriatefortheselectedtransducers.
•Whenfittingtoahullwithakeel,ensurethatthetransducerbeamwillnot
beobstructedbythekeel.Ifthetransducercannotbefittedforeoraftof
thekeelthenusesplitpairtransducerstoovercometheobstruction.
