•Thetransducersshouldbeinstalledawayfromanyprotrusionssuchas
othertransducers,steps,ribs,strak es,orrowsofrivets.
•Transducersshouldbeinstalledinalocationwherenoloadwillbeapplied
tothetransducersduring,launching,lifting,traileringandstorageofthe
boat.
•Transducersmustbeinstalledinthecorrectorientation,withthe
anti-rotationboltclosesttothesternofthevessel.Additionally,adirection
arrowpointingtothebowisembossedontheanti-rotationboltcap.
•Wheninstallingsplit-pairtransducers:
–thecorrecttransducer(portorstarboard)mustbeinstalledinthe
matching(portorstarboard)sideofthehull.Thetransducershavelabels
onthetopfacethatidentifywhichsidetheyshouldbeinstalledonand
thetransducer’selementangle:
1.Directiontovesselbow
2.Elementangleandvesselside:
♦Single(all-in-one)transducersaremark
ed“0°”
♦Splitpair(“12°”or“20°”)
♦Splitpair—port,“P”orstarboard,“S”)
3.Splitpair—Vesselsideanddirectiontovesselkeel(Singleall-in-one
transducersdonotincludethislabel.)
–eachtransducerinasplitpairhavelabelsonthetransducercablesand
alsolabelsontheaccompanying‘Y’cablewhichidentifytheside:
1.Green—Starboard-sideYcable.
2.Green—Starboardsidetransducercable.
3.Red—PortsideYcable.
4.Red—Portsidetransducercable.
–choosemountingpositionsthataresymmetricaboutthecenterlineof
thevessel.
–choosemountingpositionsthatareatleast300mm(12inches)below
thewaterline.
•Transducersshouldbeinstalledinalocationwherethereissufficient
clearanceinsidethehulltofitthenutandhaveatleast100mm(4in)of
headroomtoallowforwithdrawal.
•Toavoidinterferencewiththeinternalmagnetometer,mounttransducers
atleast1m(39inches)fromotherelectricaldevices.
Coredfiberglasshullmounting
Itisrecommendedthatthetransducerismountedinanon-coredsection,if
installationinacoredsectionisrequiredthentheareaaroundtheholemust
beadequatelystrengthenedtoensureitisnotdamagedwhentightening
thehullandanti-rotationnuts.
Important:
Installationinacoredfiberglasshullshouldonlybecarriedoutbya
competentmarineinstaller.
