8. Charging drive rechargeable batteries for the vehicle
• The vehicle delivery package does not include any drive rechargeable batteries, they must be purchased separately.
So you can choose between cheap entry-level rechargeable batteries and high-performance professional
rechargeable batteries with high capacity for the vehicle.
• Drive rechargeable batteries are usually empty upon delivery and must be charged. Several complete charge and
dischargecyclesarerequiredforthedriverechargeablebatteriestoreachtheirmaximumperformance.
When it comes to LiPo rechargeable batteries, partially discharged rechargeable batteries can be recharged with
no trouble. A prior discharge is usually not required.
• High-quality drive batteries not only have a higher capacity, which allows you to drive your model vehicle much
longer, they also provide a higher output voltage under load. This gives the motor more power and results in better
acceleration and a higher speed.
• We recommend that you purchase a high-quality charger. They are normally also suitable for charging rechargeable
batteries quickly. To use a LiPo drive rechargeable battery for the vehicle, the charger must be equipped with a
balancer.
• The vehicle battery heats up when charging/discharging (i.e. when driving the vehicle). Wait until the rechargeable
battery has reached room temperature before charging it. The same applies after the rechargeable battery has
nishedcharging.Allowittocooldownbeforeconnectingittothevehicle.
• Only use a charger that is designed for the type of rechargeable battery used (e.g. LiPo).
• To charge the drive rechargeable batteries, remove them from the vehicle and then disconnect completely from
the speed controller.
