5.8 Generating a
Diagnostic Report
(DRPT)
1. With the BiPAP Focus ventilator in Diagnostic mode and the
Diagnostics end of the serial communications cable connected to the
ventilator, start HyperTerminal, open the BiPAP Focus
Communications file, or click on the BiPAP Focus Communications
icon on the PC (if created).
2. In the HyperTerminal window menu, select Transfer > Capture Text....
3. In the HyperTerminal Capture Text window, click Browse.
4. In the HyperTerminal Select Capture File window, select where to store
the capture file and enter a filename. Leave Save as type as TXT
(generic text file).
5. In the HyperTerminal Select Capture File window, click Save.
6. In the HyperTerminal Capture Text window, click Start.
7. Type DRPT (all caps) in the dialog box, and press the Enter key. This
retrieves information from the significant event log.
8. If the ventilator is connected and communication occurs, a response
similar to the following appears:
