4.14 ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS 
 
  Unplug the machine power cord before starting the following procedure. 
4.14.1  MPU 
 
  The battery on the control board can explode if replaced incorrectly. 
  Dispose of the old battery in accordance with the instructions. 
1.  Rear cover (page 4-6) 
2.  Remove the EEPROM [A] from the old MPU.

4.  MPU [B] (
x 7,    x all) 
 
5.  Install the new MPU. 
6.  Install the old EEPROM on the new MPU. 
7.  Replace the EEPROM if the EEPROM on the old MPU is defective. 
 
  Make sure you print out the SMC reports ("SP Mode Data" and "Logging Data") before 
you replace the EEPROM. 
 
  Keep EEPROM away from any objects that can cause static electricity. Static electricity 
can damage EEPROM data.
