Figure 9.3-5: Clean Highlighted Areas with Swabs
Figure 9.3-6: Bubble Breaker
At this time the plastic bubble breakers will also need to be removed and cleaned. To remove the
bubble breaker, use a flat head screwdriver and lift up from either the top or bottom of the oval.
Never lift from the center, as the piece will break in half due to the high pressure. Once removed,
using a lint free wipe and cleaning solution remove any dried or build up ink. To reinsert the bubble
breaker, place it back in the gasket and gently push down until locked in place.
Remove the Wiper Blade by grasping its top edge and gently pulling up. (Figure 9.3-6) Clean both
sides and the top edge of the Wiper Blade to remove any dried ink.
Replace the wiper blade back into the slot taking care that its orientation is correct. (Figure 9.3-7)
The wiper blade will need to be replaced when it starts to feel flimsy and no longer holds its shape.
