This particular error should be used when file or block data formats are 
recognized by the instrument but cannot be executed for reasons of 
version incompatibility. For example, an unsupported file version, an 
unsupported instrument version. 
Indicates that a legal program command or query could not be 
executed because of a hardware problem in the device. This error 
message should be used when the device cannot detect the more 
specific errors described for errors -241. 
Indicates that a legal program command or query could not be 
executed because the option was not installed. 
-250  Mass storage error. 
Indicates that a mass storage error occurred. This error message 
should be used when the device cannot detect the more specific errors 
described for errors –251 through -258. 
-251  Missing mass storage. 
Indicates that a legal program command or query could not be 
executed because an option mass storage with enough density was not 
installed. 
-252  Missing media. 
Indicates that a legal program command or query could not be 
executed because of no disk. 
-253  Corrupt media. 
Indicates that a legal program command or query could not be 
executed because of a bad disk or wrong disk formatting. 
-254  Media full. 
Indicates that a legal program command or query could not be 
executed because there is no room on the disk. 
Indicates that a legal program command or query could not be 
executed because an attempt was made to read or copy a nonexistent 
file. 
-257  File name error. 
Indicates that a legal program command or query could not be 
executed because an attempt was made to copy to a duplicate file 
name. 
-258  Media protected.
