When You Want to Make a
Chord Resonate Beautifully
With patches using long notes, then because of the
subtle pitch changes from the way each string is
pressed, reverberation of the chords may end up
sounding muddy.
At such times, when you turn Chromatic on, the inter-
vals in the composition of a sound are preserved, pro-
ducing a beautiful chord sound. Especially if you
select “on1”, pitch changes are barely audible, giving
a natural-sounding resonance.
Change the setting of a patch such as E44 from “oFF
to “on1” to confirm that no muddiness in the sound is
present when the effect is on.
When You Want to
Reproduce Piano-like Pitch
Changes
In patches assuming instruments that cannot express
pitch changes smaller than a semitone, switching on
Chromatic better allows those instruments’ sounds.
In such cases, when “on2” or “on3” is selected, the
attack is reproduced with each pitch change.
(Depending on the tone or melody, there may be
times when “on1” or oFF” yield a better effect, so
select the setting you like.)
