UsingtheAutomatedMechanical
T ransmission
Thefollowinginformationisimportant-particularlyfor
driverswhoareunusedtodrivingcarswithautomated
mechanicaltransmission(AMT):
•Theselectingandshiftinggearofthetransmissionis
ahydraulicmechanism,thereforeacreaksoundfor
accumulatorpressurizationmaybeproducedwhen
thedriversidedooropens,andthisisanormal
phenomenon.
•Beforestartingtheengine,ensuregearselectorlever
isinNposition,bothfootbrakeandhandbrakeare
applied.
•Afterstartingtheengine,keepbothbrakesapplied
beforeandwhilstmovingthegearselectorlevertothe
requireddriveposition.
•Onahorizontalsurface,releasethehandbrake,but
keepthefootbrakeapplieduntilyouarereadyto
move.Shiftto1stgearorRgear-an'automatic'will
tendtocreepforwardorbackwardwithoutthrottle
application,assoonasthefootbrakeisreleased.

modeandmanualmode.
