ReplacingSeatBelts
Alwaysreplaceaseatbeltassemblywhere
thewebbingshowssignsoffraying.
Regularlyinspectthebeltwebbingforsignsoffraying,cuts
andwear;alsopayparticularattentiontotheconditionof
thexingpointsandadjusters.
SeatBeltPre-tensioners
Theseatbeltpre-tensionerswillonly
beactivatedonceandthenMUSTBE
REPLACEDbyMGAuthorisedRepairer
afterbeingtriggered.Failuretoreplacethe
pre-tensionerswillreducetheefciencyof
thecar'sfrontrestraintsystems.
Theseatbeltpre-tensionersactivateinconjunctionwith
theairbagtoprovideadditionalprotectionintheeventof
aseverefrontalimpact.Thepre-tensionersautomatically
retracttheseatbelts.Thisreducestheforwardmovement
ofthebeltwearerintheeventofaseverecollision.
Note:Theseatbeltpre-tensionerswillNOTbe
activatedbyminorimpacts.
Theseatbeltpre-tensionersarelocatedinsidethefront
seatbeltreels.
Theairbagwarninglightontheinstrumentpanelwillalert
thedrivertoanymalfunctionoftheseatbeltpretensioners
(see‘AirbagWarningLight’).
Ifthepre-tensionershavebeenactivated,theseatbeltswill
stillfunctionasrestraints,andmustbewornintheevent
thatthevehicleremainsinadrivablecondition.
IMPORT ANT
•Theremoveorreplacementofapre-tensionermust
becarriedoutbyMGAuthorisedRepairer .
•10yearsfromtheinitialdateofregistration(or
retdateofareplacementseatbeltpre-tensioner),
somecomponentswillneedtobereplacedbyMG
AuthorisedRepairer.Theappropriatepageofthe
WarrantyandMaintenanceManualmustbesigned
andstampedoncetheworkhasbeencompleted.
