Illuminatesforapproximately4secondsasa
lampandsystemcheckwhentheignitionisswitchedon.If
thelightdoesnotextinguish,thenafaulthasoccurredwith
theABSsystemandyoushouldseekqualiedassistanceat
theearliestopportunity.
IfanABSfaultoccurswhiledriving,ABSoperationwillbe
suspended,butnormalbrakingwillstillbeavailable.Seek
qualiedassistanceattheearliestopportunity.
BrakingSystemMalfunctionWarningLight-
Red
Thisredwarninglightwillilluminatefor
approximately4secondsasalampcheckwhentheignition
isswitchedon.Subsequentilluminationmayindicatea
faultwiththebrakingsystemsuchasparkingbrakeon
orbrakeuidlossorelectronicbrakeforcedistribution
failure.
Thelightilluminateswhentheparkingbrakeisappliedand
extinguisheswhenitisfullyreleased.Iftheparkingbrakeis
inadvertentlyleftapplied,thelightwillremainilluminated
andanaudiblewarningwillsoundwhenthevehiclespeed
exceeds5km/huntiltheparkingbrakeisreleasedorstops
30secondslater .
Ifthewarninglightremainsilluminatedaftertheparking
brakehasbeenreleased,afaultwiththebrakingsystemis
indicated.Checkthebrakeuidlevel.Ifthelightcontinues
toilluminate,stopthecarassoonassafetypermitsand
seekqualiedassistanceurgently.
Whentheignitionswitchisclosedandthedriver’sdoor
isopen,iftheparkingbrakehasnotbeenpulledup,the
parkingbrakealarm

willbeactivated,andthewarning
lightwillashaccompaniedbyanaudiblewarning.
