2.4.2 LIGHT TRIP CONTROL
The LIGHT TRIP control determines the sensitivity of the machine when removing
products that are lighter than normal. The scale is 0 to 999, in 4 unit increments.
Setting the control to a higher number increases the sensitivity. More particles with
small light defects will be rejected. Setting the control to a lower number decreases
the sensitivity. When the LIGHT TRIP is set to a lower number, only product which
is much lighter than normal will be rejected.
2.4.3 FEED RATE CONTROL
The FEED RATE control determines the vibration amplitude of the feeders. The
scale is 0 to 999, in 4 unit increments. Setting the control to a higher number
increases the vibration, and the product throughput. Setting the control to a lower
number decreases the vibration.
2.4.4 FEEDER ON-OFF BUTTON
After the sorter has gone through its start-up sequence, touching the FEEDER button
will turn on power to the feeder circuit, and the feeder ON indicator will be
illuminated green. Pressing the FEEDER button again will turn off the feeder power.
In order to make the FEEDER button easy to distinguish from the other buttons it is
yellow at all times. Only the ON/OFF indicator within the button will change color
when the FEEDER is started or stopped.
2.4.5 HOPPER SENSOR BUTTON
The product level sensor (See Figure 1-1) will turn its corresponding feeder off if the
product level in the hopper is too low. This feature is activated by touching the
HOPPER SENSOR button. When the hopper sensor is ON (active), the indicator will be
illuminated green.
If it is necessary for the feeders to continue running even if the product level in the
hopper is low, touching the HOPPER SENSOR button will bypass the product level
circuit. When the hopper sensor is OFF (bypassed), the indicator will be illuminated
red.
2.4.6 EJECTORS ON-OFF BUTTON
The ejector valves can be turned off by touching the EJECTORS button. This feature
turns the front and rear trips off, and prevents the ejectors from firing. It can be
used to turn off the ejectors when the viewer is opened, such as during cleanup, or
to suspend ejector firing during feeder weight checks.
It is important that the ejectors not be turned off unintentionally while the feeders
are running. If the feeders are on, the EJECTORS button can not be turned off.
To turn the ejectors off, first stop the feeders and then turn the ejectors off. If the
ejectors are off and the feeders are turned on, a warning will be displayed that this
will allow product flow without sorting. Touch "Turn On Feeder Only" to start the
feeders while the ejectors remain off. Touch "Turn On Both Ejectors And Feeder"
to start the feeders and also turn the ejectors on. This dialog box is shown in Figure
2-6.
