3.1.2.2 EJECTOR INTERFACE PCB (See Figure 2-22)
The DWELL BYPASS, switch SW6, is located near the connector at the Rear of the PCB
should always be in the ON position. If the position of this switch is not known,
Power OFF the machine, remove the Ejector Interface PCB and place SW6 in the ON
position.
The EJECTOR TEST switch, SW3, on the face plate, must
be in the OFF position
before the feeders will run.
3.1.3 TESTING THE AIR EJECTORS
Every ejector valve must be in good operating condition in order for the
ScanMasterII to perform at its best.
Refer to Section 2.16.1 and test each ejector as follows:
A. Pivot the front half of the viewer open to gain access to the air ejectors.
B. Place switch, SW3, on the Ejector Interface PCB, in the ON position. (See
Figure 2-22) Actuate each ejector at both the low and higher frequencies
according to Section 2.16.1. Listen to each ejector and feel the air coming
out each nozzle. All ejectors should sound very similar, and the air pulses
should feel about the same.
C. Any ejector that sounds or feels "weaker" than the others should be cleaned
or replaced. Any ejector that blows continuously instead of pulsing should
be cleaned or replaced. Any ejector that leaks more than a small amount,
even with no electronic signal applied, should be cleaned or replaced.
D. After testing the ejectors and determining that they are all working well,
place switch SW3 in the OFF position.
E. Return the front half of the viewer to the operating position, and secure the
latches.
3.2 OPERATING THE ScanMasterII
3.2.1 NORMAL STARTUP
After the pre-operational checks have been made, the ScanMasterII can be put into
operation as follows:
A. Turn on the machine by pressing the POWER switch. Wait 15 seconds for the
machine to go through the starting sequence. (See Section 2.2.1) At the end
of this sequence, the red EJECTOR LED's will turn off and the Operator
Interface will load to the TOUCH SCREEN Display and will automatically start
the ScanMasterII OPERATING SCREENS.
B. Turn on the vibratory feeders by touching the FEEDER switch.
