5-2-2. Cordless Flash Mode
Inthismeasuringmode,Measurementsaremadebythe
meterreceivingthelightfromtheashwithoutsynchro
cord.Itisusedwhenthesynchrocordwillnotreach
becauseofthedistancebetweentheashandmeter,or
whenuseofsynchrocordisinconvenient.
1. TouchtheMeasuringmodeicontoopenthe
Measuring Mode Selection Screen. then touch
the icondisplayedtoselectCordless
Flash Mode and return the screen view to
Measuring screen. (See P25 for details.)
2. SettheISOsensitivityvalueontheISOicon.
3. Set shutter speed on the T (shutter speed) icon.
* Besurethesettingsarewithinthe
specicationsoftheashequipment.
4. PresstheMeasuringbutton

on the side of
meter.
 Themeterwillbeputintomeasuringstandby
modefor90secondsandthemeasuring
modeicon willblink,andtheilluminationof
LCDscreendimsnottoaffecttothereading.
5. Triggertheashunitmanuallywhilethe
Measuringmodeicon isblinking.
 Thelightwillbemeasuredandthemeasured
value(f-stop)isdisplayed.
 *If90secondsperiodisexceededandthe
iconstopsblinkingbeforetheashhasbeen
triggered,presstheMeasuringbutton

againtoreturntoreadytomeasurestatus.
6. Evenaftermeasurement,the icon
continuesblinkingandthemeterisinready
tomeasurestatus.
7. Torelease(cancel)themeasuringstandby
status while the icon isblinkingfor90
seconds,touchthescreen,orpresseither
theMemorybutton

When ring the ash, if the ash brightness 8EV lower than the ambient light, the meter may fail to detect the light. In
this case, make measurements using the Cord (PC) Flash Mode (See P34 for details).

Rapid start uorescent lamp and special lightings are sometimes mistaken for ash, and accidentally measured. In this
case, make measurements using the Cord (PC) Flash Mode (See P34 for details)

The waveform of a ash bulb has a slight slope and there is a possibility that the light meter cannot recognize the
ashbulb in Cordless Flash Mode. In this case, make measurements using the Cord (PC) Flash Mode (See P34 for
details)
•
Right after measurement, the LCD screen is illuminated for 3 seconds, and then dims again not to affect the reading.
