4 Scope
The contents of this manual cover handling, trackside mounting, commissioning, maintenance and
testing of the ELP 319 end position detector. In addition, this documentation contains information
concerning the safety of staff, technical data of the end position detector and tools to be used for
preventive and corrective maintenance as well as information required for its proper use. The
information is presented as text and figures. The manual has been compiled to enable qualified staff
to perform the necessary maintenance work.
Where a risk of injury or damage cannot be totally ruled out, attention is drawn to the dangers by
pictograms. An explanation of the pictograms is given in Section 7.1 .
