Do not use longer cable lengths than necessary for a good signal quality and to prevent
excess inductance.
According to IEC/EN60079-14 intrinsically-safe conductors must only be installed such
that neither electric nor magnetic elds have any inuence on these conductors. For this
reason they must be placed in a way that they cannot generate electric or magnetic elds
themselves, e.g. by coiling them up to more than one loop.
CAUTION
Hot surfaces resulting from hot process media
Risk of burns resulting from surface temperatures above 65°C (149°F).
• Take appropriate protective measures, for example contact protection.
• Make sure that protective measures do not cause the maximum permissible ambient
temperature to be exceeded. Refer to the information in Technical data (Page59).
3.2 Site requirements
As required by IEC/EN60079-25, a site risk analysis has to determine possible measures to
exclude any dangers from overvoltage. For zone 1 and 2, the surge protection of the optics
housing CD 6 can be used for this purpose. For zone 0, a separate surge protection must be
implemented outside zone 0.

WARNING
Insucient air circulation
Risk of re.
The device may overheat in case of insucient air circulation.
• Ensure sucient air circulation in the room. Refer to the information in Technical data
(Page59).
