Cleaning the optical parts of the LDS 6, optics housing CD 6
If the transmission for a channel drops below the level set by the user, the transmission alarm
will be activated. This means that the optics housings for this channel are in need of service
(cleaning of the optical surfaces and aligning the optics housings).
Before the optics housings are removed make sure that no purging is active.
6.2.1 Cleaning the optical parts of the sensor
If the transmission for a channel drops below the level set by the user, the transmission alarm will
be activated. This means that the optics housing for this channel need service (cleaning of the
optical surfaces and aligning the optics housing).
Before the optics housings are removed make sure that:
• If there is steam purging – make sure ithat the steam source is turned o.
CAUTION
Severe burns
Overheated steam is invisible and can cause severe burn injuries. To prevent these injuries
• turn o the steam!
• No hazardous or hot gases can escape from the process.
• Appropriate protection against hot surfaces on and around the optics housing is used.
Preparations
WARNING
Danger of burns
Due to hot process gases and/or purging media the optics housings and their environment can
become very hot. This applies particularly when steam is used for purging since overheated
steam is not visible!
Before you start cleaning the optical parts of the optics housing make sure that
• no purging is under way
• no hazardous or hot gases can escape from the process
• you are suciently protected against hot surfaces on and around the optics housing, e.g. by
using protective gloves
Failure to do so may result in severe burns!
