4.2.1 ST750LV Rack Assembly General
With reference to Figure 62, Figure 65 and Figure 66, the ST750LV Rack Assembly forms the
basic functional unit for ST750LV controller and is configured in a familiar ‘Biscuit Tin’
arrangement. It is configured with the appropriate PCB for basic controller functions and is
mounted to the Equipment Termination Panel, towards the top of the controller. The ST750LV
uses a standard ST750LV Phase Driver PCB whereas the ST750LED uses a Phase Driver PCB
configured with monitoring circuitry to monitor CLS (NLM) LED Traffic Signals.
As indicated in the paragraphs below, certain components within the ST750LV Rack Assembly
are fitted as standard items. Some items should be ordered separately, to enhance the controller
functions. The ST750LV Rack Assembly need not be ordered separately as it is contained within
the Outercase detailed in Table 6.
4.2.2 CPU PCB
The CPU PCB will be configured with the appropriate firmware data for the variant of Outercase
specified from Table 6. It is mounted at the front of the ST750LV Rack Assembly and is
connected to several other PCBs. Refer to Figure 67 Figure
68 for the mounting position.
PL4 on the CPU PCB is connected to the PL4 Phase Driver PCB, using a 64 way ribbon cable.
Connection PL11 (the Extended System Bus) is available to allow communicate with either an I/O
PCB or ST800 Integral TC12 O.T.U PCB, depending on the required configuration. These items
should be ordered separately. Please refer to the paragraphs on Expansion I/O, within this
section, and paragraph 7.9 below for information on the ST800 Integral TC12 OTU.
The controller’s Manual Panel ribbon cable should be connected into PL1 on the CPU PCB.
The CPU PCB is able to accommodate 32 inputs, configured by handset command, which are
applied to PL6 and PL7. Eight outputs can be driven from the CPU PCB, which are also
configured via handset command. CPU PCB outputs are made available at PL2 and PL3.
External modem connection should be made to PL12. SK1 is an RS232 access socket, to allow
handsets and other RS232 equipment to be connected to the CPU PCB.
The CPU PCB is fitted as a standard item and should not be ordered separately.
